Two Singapore News make headline in Google News

Glico Pocky, Lipton milk tea powder recalled in HK, Macau over chemical

Anglo-Dutch company Unilever has recalled brands of Lipton milk tea powder in Hong Kong and Macau after they were found tainted with an industrial chemical, according to Channel News Asia http://www.channelnewsasia.com/stories/afp_asiapacific/view/379449/1/.html.

Tests on Glico Pocky Mens Coffee Cream Coated Biscuit Sticks shows it contains a level of melamine 17 times the legal limit. Cadbury chocolates containminated... M&M, Oreo not sure....

British candy maker Cadbury said Monday it is recalling 11 types of Chinese-made chocolates found to contain melamine. These chocolate products were distributed in Taiwan, Hong Kong and Australia.

Separately, Kraft Foods, the maker of Oreo cookies, and Mars, the maker of M&Ms and Snickers candy, said they believe Indonesian authorities were mistaken when they announced they had found melamine in samples of their products made in China.

Singapore F1 Circuit Night Shot

Formula One is coming to town. Be the first night street race, sound pretty amazing. Hope it will be a successful one. Personally I am not a F1 fans, but when it is now in Singapore, I guess I will watch it .. on tv.... haha. so expensive.. how to buy the ticket.

How to know if the milk products made in China or Taiwan

With more and more milk products from China and Taiwan having problem. We really got to check where the things are produced. Here is a way to differentiate Taiwan made products and China made products : by looking at first three digits of its Bar Code.

If the 1st 3 digits are 690, 691 or 692 - China made
If the 1st 3 digits are 471 – Taiwan made

So please spread the words to everyone......

What do you think is the objectives of SBS Transit?

For those who are taking bus recently, not sure do you notice that those information brochures about the bus route are missing. In return, are those blue color booklets that tell you: you will be paying more if you cheat.. blah blah blah.....

I wonder what is the objective of SBS Transit? Should it provide the bus route information to the customer be higher priority. Anyway, there are already many A3 size posters everywhere in the bus to tell people that they will be fined for $20 if they pay not enough the bus fare. Why put all the blue color booklet, while the bus route information is more important.

Lets take a look at the following photos taken by a reader of my blog:


Out of 5 buses, only one bus has put its route information in one of the four slot. The other 3 slots are filled with blue booklet. And the rest of the four buses got no information brochures at all.

From the SBS Transit website http://www.sbstransit.com.sg/about/vml.aspx they say

they will "Be driven by our customers’ needs "

So to me, the customers' needs are: the bus route, time needed for the journey, and the bus fare. But not to remind me not to cheat. Any how many percent of the passengers are cheating since the used of ez-link? I am sure more passengers need the bus information.

Really can't stand it!

My BT: 256 Seeds, over 1000 Peers, but download less than 2kB/s

I am downloading the latest "guess guess guess" show. It has over 200 seeds and 1000 peers. But guess what? My download speed is less than 2kB/sec!!!!!! This is totally not acceptable. I wonder why I am paying over SGD50 to Starhub? Just to get this terrible speed?

I can't wait to have have my contract expire.............

Starhub unblock BT? Or is it because my story with starhub?

I find out that my BT download speed for last night is ver fast. A 500MB guess guess guess is done just over a few hours, amazing! So is it Starhub unblock the BT?

My top speed is at 229 kB/s, and on average I get at least 70 kB/s, this never happens before. So any one experience the same? Or is it because my contract with Starhub ending soon? Here is my story with Starhub.

Because of my mobile line, I am very piss off with Starhub. You know I called in their mobile customer hotline for many many times, always my call was routed to MaxOnline, and told me that the mobile side is too busy to answer my call. And then after I repeat my case to the MaxOnline staff, they say they can't handle my mobile line at all. IF YOU CANNOT HANDLE, THEN WHY ASK ME TO REPEAT MY STORY TO YOU EVERYTIME? Always say they will ask the mobile line to call me back, but never done so. At least I didn't get any call from them.

So I switch to Singtel a few days ago after my contract with Starhub expire. Then I call in to MaxOnline, asking when is the expiration date for my broadband. Could it be due to this reason, then Starhub let me have a higher speed? So that I won't switch to Singtel?

Anyone got similar experience? And frankly speaking, I really VERY DISAPPOINTED to Starhub customer service. And I was disappointed to their broandband speed also, at least before yesterday.

Where to put money now?

Current time is really difficult. Inflation so high, everday you see the prices go up, food price, travel fee, almost everything. The bank interest rate is so low. Stock market keep coming down, whatever you buy, just lost money. Don't really know what can be done.

Hawker Hygiene Rating vs The Food Taste

Always see the big A B C D on the hawker center stalls or restaurant. Those represents the cleanliness of the food. A stands for good, but that is the official language. Look at this chart to see how the foodies interpret the rating.

It is quite true that we always find that those famous stall always have rating only C and D. And those really taste good one are those who getting C or D!

So go for C & D next time.......

1) the airport staff issue boarding pass to him
2) the police officer at the entrance to departure hall let he in
3) the custom officer clear his exit (AFTER HIS FINGER PRINT IS IN ERROR!)

Amazing! He get caught at Vietnam. These can happen after the Mas Selemat case!

Juiciest Post of the week - 2nd week of June

This week in the blog, we have a girl and a guy claim they were molested. And of course, more importantly, is a girl from China willing to take off her clothes and show her photos if you donate money to her to help her family in the earth quake. And finally, lets us see the difference between Malaysia Chinese and Singapore Chinese, and how different we speak.

But before that, lets review some of my preivous posts:

Apparently, if the things really happen, and if police can't help, then really nothing much we can do. This applies to many other cases, such as rental scam, where the owner get the deposite and run away. Next is a sad case, where a pretty China gal called Xiao Yun from Beijing, she says in her blog that (unfortunately I can't find her blog) if anyone donate money to her, then she will put her photos without wearing any clothes. So lets take a look at this pretty gal day to day photos:

Back to our neightbour, here cowboycaleb made a comparisons between Singaporean and Malaysian on their educations etc... (I can't wait for the 2nd part out)...

I think what he says is very true, though Singapore and Malaysia are very closed physically, but the thinking and education from people on both sides are very MUCH DIFFERENT. I think Sg government has protected us too much. Anyway, take a look at a funny one:

Malaysia version Fiona Xie

Malaysia got one Fiona Xie also.
Not because of her look.
Not because of her figure (though very similar).
But because they receive the same treatment!

The Malay grammar got this Hukum DM, that is opposite to English.
In English we put the adjective in front of the noun.
But this is not the case for Malay, they put the noun at the front, mata = eye.
And the adjective nakal = notti at the back.
